Last month Warner Power donated $5,000 to the Warner Fire Department toward the purchase of a Thermal Imaging Camera. Warner Power's donation is in honor of the excellent service provided to Warner Power, its employees and the community. These services are provided by the 33 Officers and Firefighters and 9 Emergency Medical Technicians that currently make up the Warner Fire Department.
Dick Brown, the Fire Chief, purchased this $10,000 thermal imaging camera for use in detecting fire and heat/temperatures through walls and doors and for the aid in search and rescue efforts. This camera can detect a person and/or heat source up to 600 feet away giving firefighters the ability to rescue people in smoke filled environments and to determine heat sources before entering a potentially dangerous situation or area.
The Warner Fire Department responds to approximately 400 calls per year. Well equipped with 2 engines, 3 tanker trucks, a heavy rescue vehicle and a 4-wheel drive forestry vehicle, the department can now add a thermal imaging camera to its arsenal of firefighting equipment and so the Warner Fire Department proudly maintains its 170-year heritage.
Warner Power is proud to have been a major contributor in the acquisition of such an important piece of equipment for the department and for the community.
